Released Israeli Hostage Who Was Excavate His Burial Site Coming Back to His Former Self', Parent States

The father of a released Jewish captive who was compelled to excavate his personal burial site in a Gaza underground passage has stated that his son's health is "improving every day".

Avishai David was commenting after his 24-year-old son the former hostage and another two freed captives - Guy Gilboa Dalal and the third hostage - were released from medical center to a hero's welcome at their homes on the weekend.

"Words cannot express how pleased it gives me to see him returning to his previous personality," Avishai David continued.

Back in August, 60 days before Evyatar's liberation, Hamas had published a recording revealing him extremely thin in a narrow cement underground passage - a move that drew condemnation from Israel and many Western leaders.

The father reported he was happy to see his son's "vitality improving every day, his color coming back [to his face], his cheeks getting fuller".

"Thankfully, he endured and he's strong."

Avishai David mentioned he had endured for several months aware that his son was only "50 miles away... and I can't help him".

"It devastated me," he stated, noting that he "couldn't sleep, consuming food, hydrate adequately."

During August, Evyatar's brother Ilay had labeled the Hamas footage as a "new form of brutality".

"He looks emaciated. He was being malnourished to the point where he can be dead at any time, and he suffers a great deal," Ilay commented at the time.

In the video the material, Evyatar stated: "I haven't eaten for several days... I barely got clean water." He was observed shoveling what he stated would be his personal burial site.

During Sunday, joyful crowds - comprising numerous friends and neighbours - greeted the former hostage as he arrived to his birthplace of the central Israeli city in the center of Israel.

Dr Michal Shteinman, director at the medical facility where the 3 released hostages were attended to, stated their physical conditions still showed the signs of "this terrible captivity".

"We observe their blood tests... and we've also heard their stories... they are not being untruthful. You can see the marks of this metabolic damage. Their dermis reveals their experience. You can see the blemishes and the lesions."

But the doctor added that the captives "came back tougher than they were before".

Evyatar was kidnapped from the Nova gathering during the militant group's offensive on southern Israeli territory on the seventh of October, 2023.

He and 19 additional surviving captives have been released by the militant group under the first phase of a United States-negotiated halt in fighting arrangement earlier this month.

The militant group has also handed over 15 out of twenty-eight deceased detainees. 13 were Israeli citizens, a single person was Nepali and the additional from Thailand.

In exchange, Israeli authorities has liberated 250 Palestinian detainees and one thousand seven hundred eighteen detainees from the Gaza Strip, and given back fifteen corpses of Palestinian people for every Jewish hostage's body.

Military personnel initiated a defense campaign in Gaza in response to the seventh of October, 2023 attack, in which militant group militants slaughtered about 1,200 persons in southern Israel and took two hundred fifty-one additional people hostage.

More than 68,000 individuals persons have been killed by Jewish state attacks in the Gaza Strip from that time, as reported by the Hamas-run health ministry, whose numbers are considered by the United Nations as reliable.
